  On June 19th, 2024, the Obafemi Awolowo University's Department of Dramatic Arts brought the electrifying energy of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton to life. The student performers delivered a powerful and vibrant interpretation of the American Founding Father's story, captivating the audience from the opening number. The OAU production masterfully blended the original hip-hop score with Nigerian artistic influences. The audience was treated to a dynamic fusion of rap battles, soulful ballads, and energetic dance routines, all infused with a uniquely Nigerian flavor. The iconic "My Shot" number reportedly transformed into a pulsating display of contemporary Nigerian dance styles, leaving the crowd cheering. Several scenes emerged as particular crowd-pleasers.
