THE QUEEN IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE KING!

News of the death of Queen Elizabeth the second was unarguably the biggest news that rocks September. Well, that had to be, because why not?

1. She is the longest serving monarch

2. She is the Queen of England

3. And important the leader of the commonwealth

So, there was every reason for this news to become an international trending news in an instant. But, beyond the death what is England now going to look like? If you had read this article till this point, you are probably waiting for the part where I start talking about the coronation of Charles the third as the new King of England, however, that’s not the focus of this article.

Let’s start from the appointment of Liz Truss. A few days to the death of Queen she oversaw the appointment and swearing-in of Liz Truss as the new British Prime Minister. But the emphasis here is “oversaw”.

The Royal position of King/Queen of England has been known over some years now in letter as being merely a ceremonial position, but is it? The late queen oversaw the appointment of 15 prime minister under her watch as the queen and one duty they had to the queen is that they must keep her informed about the state matters at least once every week. Now, take that as one, it will come together.

In the world today, almost all the countries with king/queen with and absolute power like the king have all come under strong criticism as being backward, or some even directly labeled “dictators” (as in the case of the king of Thailand). But, isn’t it surprising that the royalty of England is never spoken ill of? Are they that righteous? Take it as two, and keep holding my coffee.

Before you interject, let me quickly clarify something. The Kings in Africa, the Khalifa/Kings in the middle east, and the Kings in Asia all seems to have something in common that makes them a victim of pointing hands; they control the affairs of the state (including the finances). But, do you know who else have this in common with them? Yes! You guessed right; the England royalty. Well, the media talks about the royal sit of England being merely a ceremonial position, but one thing they don’t about much is that the expenses and financing of the royal court is the burden of the British Treasury. Please don’t quote, the internet is your friend, just check how much goes to the royal wallet every year and compare with that of the prime minister. I guess the answer might help you understand who is in charge of the highest decision-making office of Great Britain.

This is not in any way a slander to the British Royalty; in fact, I personally love the Queen before she died (why I have gotten love her that much is something even I cannot explain). But, emphasizing the public voice, I am tempted to ask “when will the monarch be abolished in England?” well, I guess not my question answer.

Now, we have a King. Long live the king!

How the harmattan works.

In West Africa, the Harmattan season lasts from the end of November until the middle of March. The same-named northeasterly trade wind, which originates in the Sahara and sweeps over West Africa and into the Gulf of Guinea, serves as its defining feature. The name is associated with the Twi word haramata. Generally speaking, it is cold outside, but depending on the location, it can also be scorching. The dry season, which lasts through the months with the lowest sun, is when the Harmattan blows. In this season, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) of low pressure remains over the Gulf of Guinea and the subtropical ridge of high pressure remains over the central Sahara. As it crossed across the Sahara, the Harmattan picks up fine dust and sand particles (between 0.5 and 10 microns). It is also known as the "doctor wind", because of its invigorating dryness compared with humid tropical air.

This season is distinct from winter in that it is marked by cold, dry, dusty wind, as well as significant differences between daytime and nighttime temperatures. All day long, temperatures can easily drop to 9 °C (48 °F), although they can also occasionally rise to 30 °C (86 °F) in the afternoon as the relative humidity falls to 5%. When do you need to stop exercising?

ILE-IFE

According to Yoruba faith, Obatala was given the task of creating the earth by Olodumare, the Supreme God, but while traveling, he stumbled across some palm wine, which he drank and became inebriated. Oduduwa, the latter's younger brother, thus took the three elements of creation from him, descended from the heavens on a chain, flung a handful of soil on the primordial ocean, then perched a cockerel on it to disperse the earth, thereby forming the ground on which Ile Ife would be built. A large tree with sixteen branches, symbolizing the early Ife city-clans, state's emerged after Oduduwa placed a palm nut in a hole on the freshly formed soil.

The ongoing war between Oduduwa and his older brother Obatala, which is still performed out in the present day by the two clans' respective cult groups during the Itapa New Year festival, was caused by Oduduwa's takeover of creation. Oduduwa was the first heavenly ruler of the Yoruba since he created the world, but Obatala is thought to have made the first Yoruba people out of clay.

The name "Ile-Ife" refers to the story of origin as "The Land of Expansion" since the word "ife" in Yoruba means "expansion" (the term "ile," as it is spoken in modern Yoruba, means "house" or "home").

Universities like Obafemi Awolowo University, formerly known as the University of Ife, and Oduduwa University are located in Ife and are well-known both in Nigeria and beyond. It also has sights like the Nigerian Natural History Museum. A regional agricultural hub with a region that cultivates vegetables, grain, cocoa, tobacco, and cotton is located in Ife.
